About the Role

Begin your Petco journey as a Junior Pet Stylist in Grooming! This role is designed for those with a genuine passion for animals and a desire to pursue a career in the pet care industry. You will learn fundamental grooming tasks such as brushing, bathing, drying, cutting nails, ear cleaning, and gland cleaning alongside seasoned groomers.

During a ten-week training period, you will gain hands-on experience in an industry-leading program designed to develop essential grooming skills and set the foundation for your future career. Your primary purpose is to assist in the grooming process while prioritizing the comfort, safety, and well-being of the pets in our care. You will also deliver optimal customer service to pet parents, addressing inquiries and ensuring a positive experience for every visitor.

The work environment is primarily indoors within the grooming salon. It can be noisy and wet, requiring you to stand for long periods, bend, kneel, and lift up to 30 pounds. You will spend a significant amount of time in direct contact with pet parents and their dogs, as well as collaborating with other salon partners.

Training Program

Our commitment to continuous training ensures you are well-prepared for your career:

• Weeks 1-3 (Learning and On-the-Job Training): You will learn dog behavior, pet and self-safety, proper check-in/out procedures, customer service, and grooming policies. Training will begin with hands-on practice in bathing and drying techniques.
• Weeks 3-10 (Performing and Achieving Productivity): You will perform bathing and walk-in services while working toward weekly productivity goals under close supervision.
