About the Role
ABM Industries is seeking a Junior Commissioning Technician to support Engineering & Maintenance projects within the Energy & Utilities sector. This entry-level position serves as a critical foundation for ensuring the safe, efficient operation of building and energy systems while maintaining strict compliance with project specifications.
In this collaborative environment, you will work closely with senior engineers and facility managers to assist in the commissioning, testing, and verification of complex systems. Your day-to-day activities will involve executing functional tests, documenting results, troubleshooting issues during startup, and supporting corrective actions. This role is designed to provide hands-on experience with HVAC, electrical, and controls systems, offering a clear pathway for growth into broader Facility Management and energy solutions roles within ABM's innovative culture.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleAssist in commissioning and functional testing of building and energy systems

- check_circleCollect, record, and organize test data and commissioning documentation
- check_circleHelp troubleshoot system performance and equipment issues during startup
- check_circleVerify installation and operation against drawings, specs, and checklists
- check_circleSupport punch-list development and resolution with contractors and vendors
- check_circleCommunicate findings and progress to commissioning leads and facility managers
- check_circleParticipate in site walks, equipment start-ups, and integrated systems testing
- check_circleAssist in preparing basic commissioning reports and handover documentation
- check_circleAdhere to ABM and client safety policies and procedures on all job sites
Requirements
- verifiedAssociate's degree or technical diploma in mechanical, electrical, or building systems technology
- verifiedValid driver's license
- verifiedOSHA 10 or 30-hour safety certification (preferred)
- verifiedEPA 608 HVACR certification (preferred)
- verifiedBasic understanding of HVAC systems
- verifiedBasic electrical systems knowledge
