About the Role
We are seeking an Intermediate-level Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to support the Aircrew Electronic Warfare Tactical Training Ranges (AEWTTR) program at China Lake, CA. In this role, you will provide essential support to the Threat Support Systems (TSS) environment, serving as a key liaison between our team and the Government cybersecurity lead.
This position is designed for a professional who thrives in a dynamic, evolving program environment. You will work independently with minimal oversight, preparing professional reports and cybersecurity documentation while collaborating closely with program staff. The ideal candidate is a strong team player who embraces challenges, operates outside their comfort zone, and possesses the maturity to engage directly with government leadership. You will be responsible for maintaining compliance with DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) and NIST 800-53 controls, managing user access, and driving cybersecurity awareness across the program.
Hiring Process
Candidates selected for this position will be expected to complete specific professional development courses within the first year, including DAU Cybersecurity and ISSO training, Advanced DoD RMF/ISSO-focused training, and DISA STIG & ACAS Vulnerability Management workshops. We also support progression toward advanced certifications such as CISSP, CASP+, or CISM.

- check_circleManage user accounts, access control, and system audit logs in alignment with Navy IA policy
- check_circleProvide cybersecurity awareness and best-practice guidance to program staff
- check_circleCoordinate with government cybersecurity leads to support audits, inspections, and readiness assessments
- check_circleReport progress, risks, and issues to the Operations Manager and government sponsor
- check_circlePrepare, update, and maintain System Security Plans, POA&Ms, and accreditation documentation
Requirements
