About New Country Day Camp
New Country Day Camp is an open-tent community that celebrates and sustains joyful, outdoor summer experiences where all can thrive. As a proud Jewish camp with a multicultural identity, we represent the heartbeat of NYC. Our mission is to build meaningful connections with ourselves, each other, and the natural world through innovative programming rooted in Jewish tradition and guided by universal values.
We operate a 7-week outdoor summer camp for campers in kindergarten through 8th grade. Our community is neurodiverse, and we are dedicated to supporting both neurodivergent and neurotypical campers and staff in having successful summers. The camp runs Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with transportation provided from multiple locations throughout Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn to our Staten Island campgrounds.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleTask manage counselors and Counselors-in-Training during program spaces
- check_circleLead portions of weekly Shabbat celebrations and Maccabi Games
- check_circleExecute daily 30-40 minute sessions and week-long elective units
- check_circleDevelop differentiated lesson plans for various age groups and abilities
- check_circleDesign and implement high-quality journalism programming for campers
- check_circleSupervise campers and staff on camp buses and during drop-off and pick-up
- check_circleCreate and submit weekly written and photo content for family sharing
- check_circleManage program supplies, inventory, and maintain a balanced budget
Requirements
- verified3+ years of experience working with elementary school-age children
- verifiedBachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
- verifiedProfessional-level experience in field related to the CCG program, such as outdoor education or culinary education
- verifiedPrevious experience as a supervisor or mentor
- verifiedPrevious experience working with neurodivergent youth is a plus
