This role sits within the MarTech Data Engineering POD, supporting a client-facing Java-based Spring Boot application. The core initiative focuses on architecting a scalable data warehouse solution designed to aggregate, transform, and load sales data from BigQuery into MongoDB. This pipeline leverages Google Cloud Platform services, specifically Airflow and Dataflow, to ensure robust data movement before publishing the final dataset through the Spring Boot application.
You will serve as a bridge between data engineering and application development, operating within a client-facing environment. The position requires a unique blend of Java expertise and data engineering capabilities to design and maintain complex ingestion, transformation, and orchestration pipelines. Your day-to-day will involve translating business requirements into technical data solutions, ensuring high performance and scalability for MongoDB and BigQuery integrations.
As a key contributor to the POD, you will collaborate closely with a Lead Data Engineer and Subject Matter Experts to build ETL/ELT workflows. You will be responsible for implementing data quality checks, monitoring frameworks, and exception handling to guarantee clean, reliable data. The role demands active participation in Agile ceremonies, sprint reviews, and deployment planning, with a strong emphasis on performance tuning, data reconciliation, and defect resolution during testing and hypercare phases.
Candidates will be evaluated on their technical proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and Google Cloud Platform services, as well as their ability to work effectively in a distributed global model (onsite + offshore). The selection process includes technical assessments focused on pipeline architecture, data quality strategies, and problem-solving scenarios relevant to MarTech and Retail domains.
We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive team. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background, race, religion, gender, or other protected characteristics. This role requires the ability to communicate effectively in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
