The IT/OT Engineer III serves as a critical link within our IT/OT Managed Services team, providing post-project services and automation solutions for our installed customer base. Utilizing a portfolio of Emerson products and select third-party platforms, you will deliver infrastructure, virtualization, networking, and cybersecurity services. This role goes beyond maintenance; you will advise customers on IT/OT and virtualization platform recommendations that solve pain points, optimize business value, and enhance satisfaction with their investments to support their broader business goals.
In this position, you will act as a trusted advisor, mapping automation solutions to solve complex operational challenges and supporting our customers' digital journeys. You will be expected to drive technology adoption and realized customer outcomes, working with a self-starting, innovative, and problem-solving mindset. Your work will directly contribute to the long-term growth of Stellix Global Services' IT/OT business through business development, maintaining customer relations, and supporting internal programs for continuous improvement.
Your day will involve providing day-to-day technical support and help desk services for customer contracts, demonstrating situational awareness to escalate issues to senior engineering members or software vendors when necessary. You will serve as a liaison with partners like Dell, VMWare, and Cisco, and complete assigned service agreement deliverables with high quality and quantifiable business results.
You will support lifecycle solutions IT/OT Team Leads with infrastructure network design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance activities, often within a Microsoft OS environment utilizing VMWare or HyperV virtualization platforms. A key part of your role is providing technical leadership and mentoring to less senior engineers. You will troubleshoot IT/OT and automation control systems at the virtual, physical network, controller, and I/O levels to resolve customer problems efficiently.
Additionally, you will support design and build activities for Life Science customers in a quality-controlled methodology, involving extensive documentation, internal testing, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and site commissioning. You will execute contract or project deliverables following established procedures, ensuring projects are completed within budget and schedule. The role includes 24x7 support for customer emergencies under a monthly rotating assignment roster and requires extensive travel within the New England region.
