Year Up United is an intensive, one-year or less job training program designed to empower young adults with the skills and support needed to launch professional careers. The program combines in-classroom skill development with access to internships and personalized coaching and mentorship.
Participants receive technical and professional training alongside job placement support through YUPRO Placement, our industry-leading talent placement firm. Internship opportunities may be secured at leading organizations in the New York and New Jersey area, including BNY Mellon, Fidelity, and Bank of America.
Beyond technical expertise, the program focuses on developing professional business and communication skills, interviewing techniques, and networking strategies. Students receive ongoing support and guidance to help build resumes and navigate the job market. During the internship phase, students earn an educational stipend of $525 per week.
The curriculum covers in-depth classes in Application Development, Business Operations, Banking, IT Support, Investment Operations, Data Analytics, Project Management, and Network Security & Support.
Year Up United is committed to helping participants gain the skills and opportunities necessary to succeed. The program boasts a strong track record: 72% of graduates are employed or enrolled in postsecondary education within four months of graduation. Employed graduates earn an average starting salary of $53,000 per year.
To apply, candidates must be high school graduates or GED recipients, eligible to work in the U.S., and available Monday through Friday for the duration of the program. Applicants should be highly motivated to learn technical and professional skills and must not have obtained a Bachelor's degree. Additional screening questions may be required during the application process.
