About the Team
Grand Pacific Resorts operates 22 locations across Southern California, Hawaii, Northern California, and Utah, with corporate headquarters in Carlsbad, CA. The IT Team is dedicated to maintaining a robust, geographically dispersed infrastructure that supports the daily operations of our resorts and corporate offices.
About the Role
This paid Summer Internship offers a unique opportunity to step into the world of IT and witness how a department operates in real-time. You will be an active participant in day-to-day problem-solving activities, moving beyond theory to see technology in action.
Your primary focus will be assisting the team with a major regional project: replacing legacy PCs with new hardware across our Southern California resort locations. In addition to this hardware initiative, you will support our users by handling help desk requests and technical support needs. This role is designed to help you develop essential interpersonal skills, including consulting and clear communication with non-technical stakeholders, as well as technical proficiency in supporting large-scale IT environments.
Day in the Life
As a Help Desk Intern, your schedule is flexible, allowing you to work 10–20 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Your days may involve traveling between our various locations—including the Corporate Office and resorts in Carlsbad, Oceanside, San Clemente, Coronado, and Solana Beach—to configure, install, and set up workstations. You will also engage in real-time triage of Level I help desk tickets if time permits, gaining valuable experience in a fast-paced support environment.
