We are seeking an experienced iSeries/AS400 Developer to lead the development, design, and maintenance of critical code supporting our enterprise retail and supply chain applications. In this role, you will collaborate closely with architects, analysts, and business owners to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions that drive our business forward.
You will serve as a technical leader, driving architectural design discussions and implementing engineering best practices. Your day-to-day involves developing efficient, fault-tolerant software while ensuring strict adherence to coding standards through peer code reviews and unit testing. Beyond development, you will play a key role in the team's growth by mentoring junior engineers and contributing to their personal and professional development.
This position is integral to the stability and evolution of our core retail infrastructure. You will be part of a collaborative environment where you document functional specifications, manage release artifacts, and participate in the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including estimation, deployment, and release planning. The role also involves providing second-level support, creating knowledge base articles, and resolving incident tickets to ensure system reliability.
Candidates will be evaluated based on their technical expertise in RPGLE, SQL, and CL, as well as their ability to design and maintain large-scale business applications. Internal candidates with at least one year of experience on the current team are preferred.
