WGME is seeking an enterprising and aggressive reporter to join our dedicated team of investigative and consumer reporters. We are committed to digging deep for stories, researching them with precision, and crafting narratives with an edge that are both impactful and memorable.
This position is designed for a journalist with deep curiosity and an unrelenting commitment to getting to the bottom of an issue and holding individuals accountable. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining community contacts to enterprise story ideas, identifying investigative angles for major daily news stories, and working closely with News management to refine pitches and scripts.
In this role, you will build a robust network of sources and experts to generate investigative stories regularly. You will write online versions of investigative reports and collaborate with Digital Producers to create "web extra" content. Additionally, you will maintain an active social media presence to build your personal brand, solicit original story ideas, and gather viewer input.
Interested candidates should submit their application materials to be considered for this position. The selection process will evaluate your ability to develop sources, your dynamic live television and storytelling skills, and your proficiency with social media for research and promotion.
