About the Role
The Interventional Radiology Technologist plays a vital role in performing specialized procedures using sterile techniques and advanced equipment. This position requires a deep understanding of human vasculature, including cerebral circulation, to anticipate the needs of physicians regarding supplies, equipment, and medications while maintaining a sterile environment.
In this role, you will schedule procedures, prepare and position patients, and instruct them on the process. You will oversee and coordinate with nursing staff, scrub techs, and students throughout the exam, ensuring a productive workflow. A key part of your day involves producing satisfactory images via digital imaging or hard film for radiologist interpretation and monitoring all hemodynamics during procedures. You will also assist nursing staff with caring for critically ill patients and maintain records in compliance with Radiology Department, Quality Department, Joint Commission accreditation, and OSHA guidelines.
Work Environment
This is a regular position primarily scheduled for days (0700-1700), with varied shifts. The role includes night, weekend, and holiday on-call involvement. The position requires the ability to work the specified hours and perform essential job functions with adequate visual acuity and communication skills.
