Phoenix Children's is a freestanding children's hospital featuring a Level 1 trauma center and comprehensive subspecialty care. The Division of Hospital Medicine comprises over 70 faculty members across three sites, nurturing a wide array of clinical, educational, quality improvement, and research interests. Our faculty hold academic appointments at the University of Arizona, Creighton University, and Mayo Clinic School of Medicine.
We host an established, ACGME-accredited 2-year pediatric hospitalist fellowship program and play an integral role in medical education for both the Phoenix Children's pediatric residency and the University of Arizona Med-Peds residency programs. The division is committed to bridging the gap between pediatric and adult inpatient medicine within a dynamic academic environment.
This unique opportunity is designed for Med-Peds hospitalists interested in careers in academic hospital medicine. The position offers a flexible balance of working on both the Med-Peds Consult Service and the pediatric hospital medicine teams, with the ability to tailor the distribution between services based on individual candidate interests and goals.
The Med-Peds Consult Service provides internal medicine expertise for hospitalized adult patients in a pediatric setting, working in close collaboration with medical and surgical specialists. This service also offers resources and support to assist in transitioning appropriate patients to adult providers. Beyond direct patient care, this role offers opportunities for involvement in institution-wide adult transition program development and leadership within the Med-Peds residency program. This position is ideal for Med-Peds physicians committed to integrating their dual training into innovative, age-appropriate models of inpatient care.
Phoenix Children's is on a mission to provide hope, healing, and the best health care for children and their families. We invite motivated and collaborative Med-Peds providers to help shape the future of Med-Peds care and education. Med-Peds physicians with a passion for bridging the gap between pediatric and adult inpatient medicine will find this role both meaningful and professionally rewarding.
Located in Phoenix, the 5th largest city in the U.S., the role offers a lifestyle with over 300 days of sunshine each year. We offer competitive salary, benefits, vacation, and CME, with outstanding opportunities for career advancement.
