Interim Director of Finance

About the Opportunity

Vaco has partnered with a mission-driven nonprofit organization seeking an experienced Interim Director of Finance to support finance operations during a critical leadership transition. This role is designed to provide hands-on accounting and finance leadership, ensuring stability and continuity for the organization.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will bring strong nonprofit expertise and the ability to lead a team in a hybrid environment. You will oversee all U.S. finance and accounting operations, including general ledger accounting, payroll, treasury, and financial reporting. A key part of this position involves leading and managing a team of accountants across the U.S. while partnering closely with leadership on financial reporting, compliance, and U.S. GAAP adherence. Additionally, you will ensure strict compliance with donor restrictions, grants, and U.S. government funding requirements.

Location and Engagement

This is a hybrid role based in Phoenix, AZ, with onsite requirements Monday through Wednesday. The project duration is 3 months, with the potential for a contract-to-hire arrangement. The pay rate is $60 - $75 per hour, depending on experience.
