Insurance Underwriter

About the Role

Diedre Moire Corporation is seeking an experienced Producing Underwriter to lead our underwriting production for franchise auto dealerships and specialty programs in Columbia, MD. In this role, you will proactively build new agent partnerships and manage full commercial line coverages, serving as the primary point of contact for agents regarding policy status, new and renewal accounts, and rate reasoning.

You will be responsible for reviewing renewal policies and new business for eligibility and documentation compliance. Your day-to-day involves utilizing loss control inspections, loss experience, commercial credit, and underwriting filings to determine risk levels. A key aspect of the position is analyzing risks that exceed the company's reinsurance treaty capacity and placing them on facultative reinsurance. You will also work to resolve issues for policyholders and regional producers while actively planning and participating in industry events to maintain and develop strong retail producer relationships.

The role covers a diverse portfolio including franchised new car, motorcycle, truck, and heavy truck dealerships, as well as non-franchised used auto dealers, automobile repair operations, ATV and RV dealers, and garagekeepers, towing, and storage operations. Coverage areas include comprehensive and collision, false pretense, economic loss, weather reimbursement, spot delivery, commercial property, general liability, commercial auto, workers compensation, umbrella, E&O, and inland marine.
