As an Instructional Assistant at Nottoway County Public Schools, you will serve as a vital support partner to teachers and administrators. Your primary mission is to facilitate a positive learning environment by providing routine clerical and instructional assistance within established procedures. This role is designed to meet the specific needs of the students and departments you serve, requiring a blend of judgment, tact, and professionalism.
You will work closely with educators to support students through one-to-one, small group, or whole-class instruction. Beyond the classroom, you will handle sensitive student information and maintain open, respectful communication with parents, staff, and the broader community. While performing work under the direction of teachers and administrators, you will exercise a degree of independence and judgment to ensure the smooth operation of daily school activities.
To be considered for this 10-month position, candidates must meet the "Highly Qualified" status by completing two years of higher education (60 credit hours), obtaining an associate's degree or higher, or passing the ParaPro Assessment. All applicants must be at least 18 years of age and hold a high school diploma or GED.
