About the Role
As an Instructional Aide on our award-winning Special Education team, you will play a vital role in shaping the success of students in Grades K-12. You will thrive in a supportive, student-centered, outcome-driven environment where patience, empathy, and a positive attitude are essential. Your work will involve providing personalized support, supervision, and guidance both in the classroom and within the community.
Collaborating closely with classroom educators, you will help implement each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP), tailoring instruction to their unique learning needs. Requirements
- verifiedHigh school diploma or equivalent with passage of basic skills test
- verifiedAbility to obtain and maintain certification in company approved crisis management training
- verifiedPrior experience providing instruction, guidance and/or support to children
- verifiedHighly skilled in working with children with learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, emotional behavioral disorders
- verifiedProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, database entry and basic office equipment
Nice to Have
Associate degree or higher in education or a closely related field of study. Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a paraprofessional, paraeducator, education assistant, or similar credential. Prior experience providing instruction, guidance, and/or support to children, preferably in an alternative, special education, and/or behavioral health program setting. Skills in special education, assistant teaching, academic support, scheduling/time management, record keeping & reporting, individualized education programs (IEP), behavioral support, crisis intervention, emotional disturbance, behavioral disorders, learning disabilities, performance motivation, personalized instruction, student coaching/mentorship, attention to detail, communication, interpersonal skills, computer skills, and K-12 education. Behaviors including being enthusiastic and a team player. Motivations including the ability to make an impact.
