About the Role
Vision IT is seeking an experienced Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to support critical operations at Los Angeles Air Force Base (LAAFB). In this capacity, you will serve as the appointed ISSO for AFSCI, acting as the guardian of information system security within a Department of Defense environment.
Your mission is to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of assigned systems while maintaining strict compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies. This role is not merely administrative; it involves the day-to-day implementation and monitoring of security controls, managing the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process, and coordinating complex remediation activities. You will be the bridge between technical teams and stakeholders, driving the authorization and accreditation lifecycle while preparing essential documentation for audits and inspections.
This position requires an onsite presence at LAAFB and is contingent upon the award of the contract. It is an ideal opportunity for a cybersecurity professional passionate about mission-critical logistics and operational success in a federal setting.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements
- verifiedActive TS/SCI security clearance
- verifiedBachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field
- verifiedExperience serving as an ISSO in a DoD or federal environment
- verifiedStrong knowledge of RMF, NIST 800-53, and DoD cybersecurity policies
- verifiedAbility to work onsite at LAAFB
Nice to Have
Security+ CE, CISSP, CAP, or other DoD 8570/8140 compliant certification. Experience supporting Air Force or Space Force programs. Knowledge of eMASS and related cybersecurity tools.
