The Information Security SOC team at Wawa is dedicated to protecting the enterprise from cyber-related attacks. We work closely with our managed security service provider (MSSP) and internal SIEM engineers to develop and refine standard operating procedures. Our mission is to ensure the security of Wawa's infrastructure through proactive detection, rapid response, and thorough remediation of threats.
As an Information Security SOC Analyst, you will be the frontline defender in our incident response and forensics operations. This role exists to detect, investigate, and mitigate real or potential cyber threats before they impact the business. You will serve as a technical resource for internal business teams and the IT department, helping to plan and implement new security technologies while ensuring security requirements are built into enterprise architectures.
Your day will involve responding to severity-level incidents, conducting phishing investigations, and performing forensic analysis on network packet captures, malware, and various security logs. You will collaborate with IT, legal, HR, and compliance teams to ensure alignment across the organization. A key part of your responsibility is to interact with both internal and external threat intelligence sources to stay ahead of emerging attacker techniques. You will also play a vital role in automating processes, tuning alerts to reduce false positives, and participating in quarterly tabletop exercises to validate our readiness.
Candidates selected for an interview will be expected to demonstrate strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, particularly in high-pressure situations. The process includes a review of your technical background in incident response and information security, as well as your ability to communicate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders. We value candidates who can work with little supervision and demonstrate resilience in a dynamic environment.
