About the Team

Sierra Donor Services (SDS) is a designated organ procurement organization (OPO) within the state of New Mexico and a proud member of the DCI Donor Services family. For over four decades, DCI has been a leader in working to end the transplant waiting list. Our unique approach to service allows for nationwide donation, transplantation, and distribution of organs and tissues while maintaining close ties to our local communities.

We operate organ procurement and tissue recovery organizations across California, New Mexico, and Tennessee, including the DCI Donor Services Tissue Bank and Sierra Donor Services Eye Bank. Our performance is measured by the way we serve donor families and recipients; to be successful in this endeavor is our ultimate mission. We are committed to ensuring all communities feel welcome and safe, serving as a model for fairness, belonging, and forward thinking.

About the Role

The In-House Organ Recovery Coordinator is a dynamic and enthusiastic team member dedicated to saving lives through organ donation. This role is designed for professionals who embrace the critical nature of this work and possess previous experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in an ICU or critical care setting.

You will provide essential support for organ donation activities within assigned facilities to maximize opportunities for donation. Your presence will ensure consistency and promote trust in the donation process by managing excellent donor evaluation, management, and organ yield. You will work closely with potential donor families, hospital personnel, and transplant hospitals to facilitate the efficient recovery of organs and tissues.

This position requires a significant daily presence in the assigned hospital and extensive on-call flexibility. You will collaborate with medical, nursing, and other departments to plan, design, and implement educational and quality assurance programs related to donation. Additionally, you will assist with public education and outreach projects, acting as a clinical resource and fostering collaboration with hospital leaders to promote the gift of life.

Hiring Process

  1. Submit your application.
  2. Receive a confirmation email upon successful submission.
  3. Complete a video screening (instructions provided in the confirmation email). Note: You must complete the video screening within 5 days of application submission to be considered.
  4. Proceed to the next steps of the selection process.

Equal Opportunity

DCI Donor Services is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE/AA) committed to diversity. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background, including race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
