About the Role
Riverbay Corporation is seeking an experienced Paralegal to serve as a critical liaison between our Legal Department and the Bronx Housing Court. This role is essential for managing the complex litigation landscape surrounding non-payment, HP, and holdover cases. You will act as the primary representative for management in court, requiring the ability to make quick, strategic decisions under pressure while maintaining professional relationships with shareholders and external counsel.
Day in the Life
Your work will be a dynamic blend of courtroom advocacy and high-level administrative coordination. A significant portion of your day involves traveling to the Bronx Housing Court to represent Riverbay, prepare witnesses for trials, and manage the logistics of hearings and depositions. You will serve as the daily bridge to outside counsel, ensuring all predicate notices, summons, and complaints are processed accurately and meet strict court-imposed deadlines.
Beyond the courtroom, you will coordinate closely with the Finance Department, Residential Sales, and Cooperator Services to manage case administration, apartment investigations, and succession applications. You will also evaluate urgent correspondence, process monthly retainer invoices, and provide confidential support to attorneys on special projects and investigations. This position demands a professional demeanor when interacting with shareholders to address their needs and concerns, as well as the physical stamina to navigate court environments and handle extensive case files.

Requirements
