As a House Supervisor (RN) at Bronson LakeView Hospital, you will serve as a vital link in supporting the organization's operations and patient care services. This role utilizes effective leadership skills to support staff, solve problems, and make appropriate decisions in the absence of unit leaders. You will provide immediate administrative and clinical leadership to unit staff and ancillary departments, coordinating hospital-wide activities to resolve problem situations as they arise.
Your day will involve acting as the initial contact person for atypical events, conducting initial assessments, and ensuring the stabilization of patients while notifying risk management and department directors. You will monitor hospital capacity, manage throughput to avoid delays in patient placement, and lead bed planning meetings to ensure appropriate staff placement and safe levels of care across all areas. Additionally, you will conduct regular rounds on all hospital departments, acting as a mentor to staff and an advocate to patients, while overseeing the availability of supplies and equipment necessary for patient care.
For the South Haven location, you will also be responsible for completing the annual CBL regarding "Swing beds," understanding the documentation differences and specific care required for each individual swing bed patient compared to in-patients or observation patients.
