Based at the Residence Inn Las Vegas, the Chief Engineer is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the engineering division. In the absence of the Director, the Chief Engineer will assume the administrative, financial, and operating aspects of the hotel as they relate to engineering. This role serves as the operational backbone for the property's physical infrastructure, ensuring that all systems run safely, efficiently, and in compliance with Highgate's rigorous standards.
The Chief Engineer will lead a team dedicated to maintaining the property, equipment, and grounds in a safe and acceptable state of repair. The day-to-day rhythm involves supervising and training staff in customer service and standard operating procedures, managing departmental budgets, and implementing preventative maintenance programs. A critical part of the role is ensuring the safety of guests and staff by inspecting, testing, and certifying all emergency and life safety equipment. The Chief Engineer acts as a key problem-solver, responding immediately to alarms, handling complex maintenance requests, and participating in the hotel's safety committee to foster a culture of safety and efficiency.
