Position Summary
As a host at Marriott International, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, setting the tone for their dining experience. Your role involves greeting guests warmly, determining party sizes, and seating them at clean, available tables. You will ensure every guest is welcomed with a current menu, clean silverware, and a comfortable place setting, while also guiding them through the dining rooms and assisting with any special needs.
Beyond seating, you will maintain the cleanliness and organization of the dining area by arranging tables and chairs, practicing clean-as-you-go procedures, and monitoring the room for safety and service standards. You will also manage the front-of-house environment by answering telephones with professional etiquette, maintaining a clean and professional appearance, and adhering to all company safety and security policies.
This role requires the ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods and to move objects weighing up to 10 pounds. You will work collaboratively with the team to reach common goals, listening to and responding to the concerns of colleagues while upholding quality expectations.
