Hospital Attendant 1 (UST)

About the Role

This position serves as a vital support within the nursing team, focusing on patient care and unit operations. The role is designed for individuals who demonstrate excellent communication skills and a strong ability to collaborate within a team environment. The primary focus is on providing direct and indirect nursing care, ensuring patient needs are met with a compassionate and professional approach.

Day-to-day responsibilities include performing basic patient care activities, transporting equipment and patients, and managing the daily inventory of all patient care-related supplies. The role requires a foundational knowledge of normal growth and development, with the flexibility to respond to changing patient needs. Team members are expected to actively participate in maintaining unit morale, problem-solving, and upholding a safe work environment. Additionally, the role involves participating in quality improvement initiatives, communicating effectively with the broader healthcare team, and maintaining positive public relations. Personal and professional development is encouraged, with decisions guided by ethical principles.

Work Schedule

This position operates on an 8-hour night shift. The schedule includes every other weekend and occasional holidays, as outlined in the bargaining unit agreement.
