About the Role
Labor One is seeking experienced Pipefitters to join a team at a shipyard in Ingleside, Texas. This intermediate-level position is critical for laying out, assembling, installing, and maintaining complex pipe systems, supports, and related hydraulic or pneumatic equipment. The role demands precision in following plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards while working in a dynamic, outdoor environment.
Day in the Life
You will be responsible for reading isometric drawings, taking measurements, and fabricating piping efficiently. Your day will involve aligning, bolting, and clamping metal components for welding, as well as assembling pipes, tubes, and fittings according to strict specifications. You will operate a variety of tools including beveling machines, cut-off grinders, torches, and magnetic drills to layout and install equipment, vessels, and pumps. The role also includes hydro testing piping systems and manually handling rigging equipment.
This position requires the ability to distinguish varying thicknesses and types of metal materials. You will work in diverse conditions, including climbing and working at heights exceeding 200 feet, navigating confined spaces, and enduring all weather conditions. Flexibility is key, as the role may require overtime, nights, and weekends to meet workload demands.
