About WSDOT

The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is a multimodal agency with a global reputation for excellence. Our dedicated workforce plans, designs, builds, and operates an integrated transportation system that safely and efficiently moves people and goods throughout the state. In addition to maintaining over 20,000 lane miles of state highway and 4,100 bridges, WSDOT leads an award-winning Active Transportation Plan, manages the world's longest floating bridge, and operates the largest ferry system in the nation.

About the Role

WSDOT is seeking a motivated and safety-focused Highway Maintenance Worker 2 to join our Traffic Striping Crew based in Union Gap, WA. In this dynamic role, you will travel throughout the South-Central Region, performing pavement marking and traffic striping operations that directly contribute to the safety and mobility of Washington's transportation system. As part of a dedicated team, you will help install and maintain roadway markings, prepare road surfaces, and support the delivery of high-quality, durable, and compliant pavement markings that enhance visibility for motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians.

Work is generally performed Monday–Thursday on four 10-hour shifts, though weekends, holidays, night work, and extended hours may be required for emergency response and non-scheduled callouts. The role requires the ability to report to the duty station within 45 minutes and respond in all weather conditions.

Why WSDOT

Joining WSDOT means becoming part of a team that values work-life balance with flexible schedules, allowing time for life outside of work.
