About the Role
The Brookline Department of Public Works, Highway Division, is seeking a skilled and reliable Highway Maintenance Craftsperson to support the construction, repair, and upkeep of roadways, sidewalks, and related infrastructure. This position is vital for ensuring safe and accessible public ways, performing a blend of skilled and semi-skilled labor while operating heavy equipment.
The role requires responding to weather-related and emergency conditions, including snow and ice removal, to maintain town operations. The successful candidate will work cooperatively with the team to handle labor-intensive tasks, from repairing potholes and resetting curbstones to clearing debris and treating roadways during emergencies. The position demands the ability to perform strenuous physical labor in all weather conditions while adhering to strict safety and construction codes.
