We are seeking a dedicated Mathematics Teacher to join the team at Burns High School for the 2026-2027 school year. In this position, you will serve as a primary guide for students navigating the complexities of Algebra, Fundamental Algebra, and Geometry. Your mission is to develop students' competence in both basic and complex mathematical principles while fostering an understanding of how these concepts apply to real-world problem-solving.
You will operate under the general supervision of the School Principal, working to create a classroom environment that is safe, supportive, and conducive to both individualized and small-group instruction. The role involves translating curriculum goals into engaging learning experiences that challenge students to think creatively and analytically. Whether you are teaching concepts ranging from real and imaginary numbers to advanced geometry, your focus will be on adapting instructional methods to meet the diverse needs of every learner, including those with special needs.
Beyond the classroom, you will play a vital role in the school community by maintaining accurate records, communicating effectively with parents, and collaborating with fellow faculty members. You will also be expected to stay current with educational developments through professional growth opportunities, ensuring that your teaching practices remain innovative and effective.

Candidates must hold an Oregon State Certification as a Mathematics Education Teacher through the TSPC and possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in an applicable education discipline. A Master's degree and prior successful teaching experience are preferred.
