About the Team

The Carl T. Hayden Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona, hosts an established Hematology/Oncology program dedicated to providing comprehensive care for Veterans with malignant and benign hematologic disorders and malignant solid tumors. The team serves as a vital resource for specialty consultations for both inpatients and outpatients, actively participates in quality assurance programs, and collaborates on committees to meet established performance measures. As an integral part of this academic environment, the role includes teaching and supervising medical students and physicians-in-training, with an academic appointment at the University of Arizona School of Medicine - Phoenix.

About the Role

This position offers a unique opportunity to advance your career within the VA system. You will diagnose, stage, and provide therapy and follow-up care for complex hematologic and oncologic conditions. The role is designed to support high-quality professional practice while maintaining a favorable work-life-family balance. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with minimal call responsibilities. Success in this role requires significant experience and training to manage patient care effectively while contributing to the facility's educational mission.
