Gymnastics Recreation Coach

Martinsburg-Berkeley County Parks & Recreation is dedicated to sharing the love of gymnastics with community youth. We are seeking energetic and passionate individuals to join our team and help create a healthy, positive learning environment for children of all ages.

About the Role

As a Gymnastics Recreation Coach, you will be the bridge between the sport and our young athletes. Whether working with toddlers or teenagers, your mission is to break down complex movements into clear, manageable steps while fostering confidence, patience, and adaptability in every student.

You will spend your shifts setting up obstacles and stations, adjusting equipment as needed, and providing hands-on spotting to ensure safety. This role requires a commanding presence to capture the attention of your class, whether you are guiding a room of 18-month-olds or a group of 18-year-olds. You will collaborate closely with other coaches to maintain a positive work environment and enforce facility rules with respect.

Hiring Process

Candidates must be available to work weekends and possess reliable transportation. All applicants are required to successfully complete a background check before starting. Interested individuals should apply directly to the department to be considered for this non-exempt position.
