The Groundskeeper plays a vital role in preserving the appearance and safety of County facilities. This position involves performing a variety of tasks focused on weed and litter control at designated locations. You will work as part of a crew under close supervision, ensuring that properties are free of trash, debris, and overgrowth.
The role requires operating power equipment such as push mowers, sickle mowers, and sprayers to maintain tree wells, open areas, and shrubs. You will assist in spraying weeds and applying fertilizers while navigating various terrains, including even and uneven surfaces, inclines, and ladders. The work is performed outdoors and involves exposure to natural weather conditions, dust, fumes, and occasional noise.
This position is safety-sensitive and requires compliance with specific screening protocols. Successful candidates must complete a post-offer employment medical examination and adhere to all County safety guidelines. Employment is subject to pre-employment and random drug testing in accordance with federal and state regulations.
Candidates must complete required FEMA training as assigned and possess a valid New Mexico driver's license. The role may involve handling sensitive or confidential records, requiring a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
