This position is designed for students enrolled in a master's or doctoral program within the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences (GSBS) at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB). The role serves to establish eligibility for support through an educational stipend while integrating academic coursework with practical research experience.
Students in this role balance classroom requirements with hands-on laboratory work. Under the direction of faculty members leading institutional grants or contracts, you will perform research pertinent to your degree. Your activities may also include student teaching, tutoring, and library research to support courses and independent investigations. The work environment varies by project, taking place in classrooms, libraries, laboratories, or clinical settings. Please note that biomedical research and clinical environments may involve exposure to specific occupational hazards.
Applicants must be currently enrolled in a degree-granting program at the GSBS. The salary is commensurate with experience.
