The Division of Medical Genetics in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Utah School of Medicine is seeking a Genetic Counselor to serve a dual mission of clinical care and academic leadership. This position is uniquely structured to balance 40% clinical responsibilities with 60% dedicated to serving as the Associate Program Director of the University of Utah Graduate Program in Genetic Counseling (UUGPGC).
As the Associate Program Director, you will manage, coordinate, and facilitate all aspects of the graduate program. Your leadership will be essential in preparing accreditation reports, serving as a course director for didactic courses, and representing the UUGPGC at national meetings and conferences. You will also act as a vital liaison between the program, the Graduate School, the School of Medicine, and participating departments.
On the clinical side, you will provide genetic counseling services in general genetics and pediatric specialties clinics under the Division of Medical Genetics. Clinical activities will take place at Primary Children's Hospital locations in Salt Lake City and Lehi, the University of Utah Hospital, and various outreach clinics within and outside Utah. The role expects a commitment to academic work encompassing clinical care, practice advancement, education, investigation, administration, and advocacy.
