Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital proudly serves the health care needs of families in St. Charles, Lincoln, and Warren counties. Both inpatient and outpatient surgical units perform a variety of complex procedures, including Orthopedic, Breast Surgery, Brachytherapy, Gynecology, Laparoscopy, Ear, Nose and Throat, Urology, Vascular, Plastic Surgery, General Surgery, Gastrointestinal, Thoracic, and Podiatry.
This position provides direct patient care activities, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of the standards of nursing care. The role promotes patient and family-centered care in a healing environment, educating patients and families on managing illness or injury, including post-treatment home care needs and medication administration.
You will participate in activities that promote patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance while developing, implementing, and documenting individual plans of care in collaboration with the interprofessional team. Using critical nursing skills, you will assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care, considering patient preferences and barriers to involvement, including their values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population-specific needs.
