HonorHealth is a nationally recognized nine-hospital system serving the Phoenix metro area, including Scottsdale, Phoenix, Mesa, and Peoria. As a physician-led organization, the system is expanding its Gastroenterology team, which currently comprises 27 employed specialists supported by an extensive NP/PA team and a dedicated GI Fellowship program. The organization fosters a collaborative and innovative environment where physicians lead decision-making regarding clinical care, compensation, and team development.
HonorHealth serves as the Primary Teaching Affiliate of Arizona State University's John Shufield School of Medicine, with a new Medical Engineering school opening in 2026. This affiliation creates unique opportunities for professional growth and faculty development for physicians interested in academic medicine. The Medical Group also operates the largest primary care network in Arizona, providing a robust referral base for the Gastroenterology team.
We are seeking Board-Certified or Board-Eligible General Gastroenterologists to join a thriving team where a separate Advanced Gastroenterology service provides continual support for complex cases. The role is designed to offer a tailored practice model that respects your clinical style and lifestyle. Physicians can choose between a full-day endoscopy schedule or a hybrid model of half-day clinic and half-day endoscopy. Clinic visit times are flexible, ranging from 20 to 40 minutes per patient, with start times available between 7:00 AM and 8:30 AM.
For those interested in inpatient care, the team offers a GI Hospitalist program with a traditional 7-on/7-off schedule, two weeks straight, or Monday-Friday days, complemented by three weeks of paid vacation. In locations without a dedicated GI Hospitalist, inpatient service rotations average one week out of four. The team also utilizes a state-of-the-art Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC), with ownership opportunities available after two years.
Arizona offers an unparalleled quality of life, making it an ideal home for professionals and families. The Scottsdale and Phoenix metro areas are home to top-ranked public and private schools, including BASIS Charter Schools, Great Hearts Academies, and top-rated districts like Scottsdale Unified and Chandler Unified. The region features robust STEM and gifted education programs, including IBD High School Programs.
Beyond education, the area provides year-round outdoor adventures such as hiking, biking, and rock climbing in Camelback Mountain, the McDowell Sonoran Preserve, and the Superstition Mountains. Residents enjoy resort-style living with access to luxurious spas, fine dining, and premier shopping. The region is also home to major sports teams, the Phoenix Zoo, the Desert Botanical Garden, and the OdySea Aquarium. Travelers can easily access Sedona, Flagstaff, the Grand Canyon, and Southern California beaches.
HonorHealth is a culture of stability and satisfaction, with minimal turnover in the past seven years. We value your voice and expertise, ensuring your career can thrive within our physician-led organization.
