This position is designed for a retired CDL driver seeking supplemental income. You will serve as the primary point of contact for employees, safely transporting them from designated parking areas to their workplaces in downtown Jacksonville, FL. The role requires a professional demeanor to handle customer inquiries and resolve issues while navigating a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
Your shift runs from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM, Monday through Friday, with no weekends required. During this time, you will operate a shuttle bus, performing pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, maintaining interior cleanliness, and fueling the vehicle. You will utilize hand-held computers and company software to log trip counts and ensure accurate documentation per Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements.
A significant portion of your day involves interacting with passengers, including assisting disabled individuals and answering questions about routes or company policies. You will remain vigilant for safety hazards, debris, or spills on roadways and in parking areas, reporting any incidents immediately to your Supervisor or General Manager. The role demands physical flexibility to work in extreme weather conditions and lift equipment up to 75 pounds.
Applicants must possess a valid Class B CDL with a Passenger Endorsement and a current DOT Medical Card. Candidates must be at least 21 years old and have a driving record free of major traffic violations in the past three years. Previous customer service experience is valued, and familiarity with Microsoft Suite products is a plus.
