The role focuses on the safe and effective operation of forklifts and cranes, including obtaining necessary licenses and training. Key responsibilities include driving, loading, and unloading materials, components, and equipment in confined spaces, as well as safely stacking and unstacking containers and racks.
The employee must adhere to all safety requirements and protocols, reporting accidents, near misses, inventory discrepancies, or damaged equipment immediately. Success in this role requires the ability to utilize time effectively, follow standardized routes, and represent the company professionally to customers, clients, suppliers, and truck drivers.
The work environment involves frequent exposure to moving parts, electromagnetic fields, and the risk of electric shock and vibration. Employees may occasionally work in high, precarious places and be exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level is usually loud, and the role may require working in temperature extremes for extended periods. The position also requires flexibility to work various shift hours, including scheduled overtime and emergencies.
