You are likely already familiar with UPS as the brown trucks delivering everything from diapers and dish towels to holiday gifts and life-saving medicines. But we are more than just delivery vehicles. We are a diverse team of hardworking package handlers, friendly drivers, and professionals working in finance, technology, engineering, and marketing. We are building our business ethically, sustainably, and in an environmentally conscientious way. Our mission is to deliver what matters—to customers, communities, colleagues, the world, and your career.
As a Casual Package Delivery Driver, you will be the friendly face of UPS in your community. You will drive our familiar brown trucks, bringing packages of all shapes and sizes to homes and businesses. This role is perfect for those who enjoy fast-paced work, being outdoors, and being behind the wheel. You will be part of a physically active crew dedicated to excellent customer service.
This is a seasonal opportunity designed to be a great place to start your journey at UPS. While the role is casual, it offers extensive training and growth opportunities. Many seasonal drivers go on to secure permanent, full-time roles that offer significant advantages, including an average total compensation package of $145,000 per year, $0 healthcare premiums, up to seven weeks of paid vacation, and contributions to a defined-benefit pension plan.
Full-time casual drivers typically work eight to ten hours per day. Schedules vary based on business needs, with shifts running Monday through Friday or Tuesday through Saturday. You are expected to comply with UPS appearance guidelines and wear the company-provided uniform.
Applicants must meet specific minimum qualifications, including the ability to lift up to 70 lbs, possess a valid driver's license (no CDL required, though type varies by state), and pass a DOT physical. You must have the legal right to work in the U.S. and demonstrate excellent driving and customer service skills.
If you have a sincerely held religious belief or practice that conflicts with any condition of employment, including uniform or appearance guidelines, you may request an exception, change, or accommodation.
UPS is committed to providing a workplace free of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation. We are an equal opportunity employer and do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, veteran status, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other characteristic protected by law.
