About the Role
The Fitness Instructor is the heart of our community wellness programs, responsible for leading safe, effective, and engaging fitness classes for YMCA members of all ages and fitness levels. In this position, you will guide participants through diverse routines, from strength training and cardio to yoga and cycling. Your day involves creating dynamic class experiences that keep members motivated while ensuring every individual feels welcomed and safe. You will be the first point of contact for members seeking guidance, offering modifications, correcting form, and answering fitness-related questions with professionalism and warmth.
Work Environment
This role takes place in a dynamic, high-energy fitness center. As an instructor, you will be active for extended periods, demonstrating exercises and moving around the floor to assist participants. The environment can be loud due to fitness music and equipment, and the physical demands include lifting equipment up to 50 pounds, bending, and standing throughout your shift.
