Portage County is seeking a dedicated Finance Manager to join the Finance Department. In this full-time capacity, you will serve as a vital financial liaison, providing expertise in budget and financial planning to help departments meet their goals. The role is designed to ensure the County's financial operations remain compliant with regulations while fostering transparency and efficiency across all fiscal activities.
You will play a key role in the preparation and development of the annual county-wide budget, analyzing departmental amounts and presenting summaries to leadership. Your day-to-day involves managing complex grant financial management, from developing grant applications to maintaining reporting systems and ensuring accurate expense allocations. Additionally, you will supervise staff, guiding them through new initiatives, administering HR policies, and coordinating workflow to maximize team efficiency.
