About the Role
As a Field Tester, you will serve as the critical bridge between our engineering teams and the real world. This role is a unique hybrid that combines the analytical rigor of a software quality analyst, the technical precision of a test technician, the decision-making authority of an operations manager, and the instructional skills of a seasoned trainer.
You will be responsible for the remote operation, calibration, testing, and fielding of our robotic systems. Your day-to-day involves executing hands-on and semi-autonomous test operations to shape the design, development, and deployment of these technologies. Beyond testing, you will play a vital role in training colleagues and clients on the safe and effective use of our command and control software, ensuring that new technologies are stabilized and successfully adopted at customer sites.
Location & Requirements
Note: This position requires candidates to be local to Utah or willing to relocate to Utah from day one.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleOperate heavy equipment manually, via tele-operations, semi-autonomously, and autonomously to evaluate performance
- check_circleDocument daily inspections, test procedures, results, findings, and maintenance activities in clear reports
- check_circlePerform minor routine preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment to ensure functionality and longevity
- check_circlePerform on-site system configuration, calibration, and acceptance testing to stabilize new technologies at customer sites
- check_circleCalibrate, diagnose, and troubleshoot technical issues with robotic systems and equipment alongside support teams
- check_circleDefine test requirements and configure test tracks to simulate real-world conditions for system validation
- check_circleCollaborate with engineering teams to design and execute tests assessing engineering and customer requirements
- check_circleDevelop training plans and execute vehicle-specific training for team members and customers on robot systems

Requirements

- verified2-4 years operating heavy equipment (Field Tester II)
- verifiedManufacturer-specific or vocational certification for heavy equipment (Field Tester II)
- verifiedOSHA 10 (or willing to be trained) (Field Tester II)
- verifiedAssociates degree or vocational certificate (Field Tester II preferred)
- verified4-7 years experience with heavy equipment (Field Tester III)
- verifiedLeadership, foreman, or supervisor experience (Field Tester III)
- verifiedAssociates degree or vocational certificate (Field Tester III)
- verifiedOSHA 30 (or willing to acquire) (Field Tester III preferred)
- verified7-10 years experience with heavy equipment (Field Tester IV)
