About the Role
At BFS, the Field Crew Leader serves as a reliable mentor and operational anchor for our construction teams. This role is critical to maintaining the smooth, efficient, and correct performance of crew activities while upholding our commitment to a continuous quality improvement process. You will bridge the gap between strategic production schedules and on-the-ground execution, ensuring installations meet specifications and safety standards.
Day in the Life
Your day involves overseeing the daily activities of an assigned crew, from determining wages and managing timecards to assigning duties and tracking production records. You will analyze work problems, suggest efficiency improvements, and train team members in proper procedures and techniques. Beyond technical oversight, you are the face of the company for our customers, providing knowledgeable, courteous, and prompt service while actively responding to their needs.
As a team player, you will operate tools and machinery as required, enforce safety regulations, and demonstrate a commitment to the company's philosophy of continuous improvement. You will work in outdoor environments subject to varying weather conditions and noise levels, requiring the ability to lift and carry significant weights while maintaining focus on quality and safety.
Hiring Process
Candidates must demonstrate at least two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Successful applicants will possess basic mathematical skills, the ability to interpret technical procedures and regulations, and strong communication skills for presenting information to managers and clients. A valid Driver's license, OSHA Safety Training, and relevant trade certifications are often required.
