Challenging. Meaningful. Life-changing. These aren't words usually associated with a job, but working at Bristol Myers Squibb is anything but usual. Here, uniquely interesting work happens every day in every department. From optimizing a production line to the latest breakthroughs in cell therapy, this is work that transforms the lives of patients and the careers of those who do it.
You'll get the chance to grow and thrive through opportunities uncommon in scale and scope, alongside high-achieving teams. Take your career farther than you thought possible. Bristol Myers Squibb recognizes the importance of balance and flexibility in our work environment, offering a wide variety of competitive benefits, services, and programs to help employees pursue their goals both at work and in their personal lives.
With a single vision as inspiring as "Transforming patients' lives through science," every BMS employee plays an integral role in work that goes far beyond the ordinary. Each of us is empowered to apply our individual talents and unique perspectives in a supportive culture, promoting global participation in clinical trials. Our shared values of passion, innovation, urgency, accountability, inclusion, and integrity bring out the highest potential of each colleague.
The Immunology and Cardiovascular Thematic Research Center (ICV TRC) at BMS is one of the fundamental Research units delivering therapeutics to patients. Our mission is to create transformative medicines of tomorrow based on the cutting-edge science of today. We leverage BMS's internal invention engine, which includes industry-leading expertise in small molecule chemistry, protein biotherapeutics, cell therapy, protein degradation, nucleic acids, and other therapeutic modalities.
The ICV TRC is a highly collaborative department, working across our locations with many colleagues throughout the Research and Development organization. The successful candidate will be an important leader of the Discovery Biology group, located in Lawrenceville, NJ, and Cambridge, MA.
We seek a talented senior scientific leader to combine expert knowledge in immunology and cardiovascular disease and drug discovery to contribute to our departmental leadership, evolution, and portfolio. The candidate will help drive our early discovery portfolio of innovative internal programs and external strategic alliances that aim to combine cutting-edge drug discovery approaches with a growing understanding of mechanisms of immune reset, tissue repair, and cardio-specific delivery.
As part of the Discovery Biology Group within the ICV TRC, you will have the opportunity to develop strategies for discovery within the ICV TRC and across BMS expertise in high-throughput biology, chemistry, and computational sciences. You will also participate in the evaluation of external opportunities in the areas of immunology and cardiovascular biology and lead the development and management of external collaborations with projects ranging from early target discovery to IND submission.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a difference in the lives of patients and interact with the broader scientific community. You will be encouraged to publish your work and present at external meetings and conferences. The role requires interfacing with external groups, including CROs and both academic and industrial collaborators to deliver on a pipeline of new target molecules.
If you come across a role that intrigues you but doesn't perfectly line up with your resume, we encourage you to apply anyway. You could be one step away from work that will transform your life and career. For more information on our culture and benefits, visit careers.bms.com/working-with-us.
