Located in the heart of downtown Providence, Charette serves 165 students in grades 9-12 and prides itself on the quality of relationships among students, staff, and the broader Providence community.

About the Role

The Executive Director is the highest administrator at Charette High School, reporting directly to the Board of Directors. This role is responsible for the successful leadership and management of the school, enacting its mission, ensuring academic performance, supporting faculty, maintaining charter accreditation, and ensuring smooth campus operations.

The Executive Director must foster an inclusive school culture that demonstrates integrity, diversity, innovation, accountability, and a relentless pursuit of academic achievement. This is an ideal opportunity for an instructional leader with a strong bias towards action, an orientation towards systems-building, and a commitment to community.

First Year Priorities

A successful first year in this role will focus on:

  • Supporting Charette through its one-year conditional renewal, including engaging with RIDE, the Board of Directors, and the broader community.
  • Radically improving the quality of instruction in every classroom by implementing best practices and reviewing instructional materials.
  • Maintaining a high degree of engagement with the Board, faculty, students, and families, managing proactive communication and addressing concerns.
  • Identifying, creating, or modifying high-quality systems to maximize efficiency.
