About the Role
As an Environmental Service Specialty Tech, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and healing environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Your primary focus involves providing basic and specialized cleaning services throughout the hospital, with a specific emphasis on the maintenance of hard and soft flooring surfaces, including stairwells, hallways, and public spaces. You will operate heavy mechanical equipment such as scrubbers, buffers, polishers, extractors, and wet vacuuming units to ensure these areas are pristine.
In addition to general facility care, you will work within Specialty Units such as the surgical services/perioperative suite, cath lab, endoscopy, and other critical areas. In these settings, your work is crucial for reducing harmful pathogens. You will demonstrate principles of cleaning, disinfecting, and quality assurance to create a safe care environment. This role may also involve performing duties associated with the Environmental Services Tech I classification, including project work like conference room setup, elevator cleaning, and hanging cubicle curtains.
