As an Engineering Technician (Production) based in Sterling, Virginia, you will play a vital role in supporting production operations by working directly alongside engineers and welders. This position focuses on the critical execution of powder handling and assembly operations, ensuring the seamless flow of materials from preparation through to final packing and welding.
In this onsite role, you will assist in material preparation and support welders with crimping operations. A key aspect of the position involves maintaining the integrity of the production environment through regular maintenance and cleanouts of specialized equipment, such as augers and kilns. You will be responsible for accurately documenting process information and data within FactoryLogix, ensuring consistent and accurate communication with engineering and management regarding scheduling and delivery.
The role requires a dedication to safety and compliance with standard operating procedures. You will be working in an environment that involves exposure to specific hazards, including steel powder handling, acetone, and welding operations. While training is provided for specific machinery maintenance, the position demands a strong willingness to learn new skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Candidates must be eligible to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance, with U.S. citizenship being a prerequisite. The contract is for a duration of two or more years, requiring full-time onsite presence in Sterling, Virginia.
