About the Role and Location
This position is located on Roi-Namur on Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands. It is an unaccompanied position, meaning no family accommodations or pets are permitted. However, the unique location offers significant benefits, including free housing, three meals a day, and potential overseas tax incentives.
In this role, you will serve as a vital link in the chain of space launch and defense operations, working directly with mission-critical radar systems and high-power electronics. Key Responsibilities
- check_circleProvide transmitter operations and maintenance support for C-Band and Ka-Band radar systems
- check_circlePerform daily warm-ups, satellite tracks, and range test operations
- check_circleConduct routine preventive maintenance and run system diagnostic software
- check_circleSupport engineers during design and implementation of improvement and modernization projects
- check_circleInstall new equipment and provide technical input on system configuration and performance
- check_circleClimb and work at moderate heights up to 50 feet
- check_circleMaintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial and custom hardware components
- check_circleMaintain equipment calibration databases and test fixtures using COTS components
- check_circleAssemble, wire, and bench test components and subassemblies
- check_circleGenerate Job Hazard Analysis, maintenance procedures, and weekly reports
Requirements
- verifiedAssociate's Degree in Electronics Technology or related field, or 2 years of civilian military electronics training, or experience in lieu of education
- verified5+ years of electronics technician experience including high voltage systems, high power electronics and RF transmission equipment experience
- verifiedU.S. Citizenship
- verifiedAbility to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
- verifiedAbility to obtain and maintain a U.S. passport
- verifiedClimber II Certification or ability to obtain certification within 6 months of hire
- verifiedAbility to relocate to Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands
- verifiedAbility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends
Nice to Have
Background in high power electronics and RF transmission. Ability to perform maintenance on vacuum tubes and high power peak pulsed microwave transmitters. Ability to safely setup and conduct measurements of dc or dc pulsed high-voltage circuits. Knowledge of Allen Bradley Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) hardware. Mechanical fabrication skills. Additional 2 years of RF equipment experience including experience with analog/RF hardware components such as amplifiers, couplers, and hybrids.
