Based at the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division in Patuxent River, MD, this position supports the Aircraft Instrumentation Division (AID) within the Prototyping, Experimentation, and Instrumentation (PIE) Department. You will join the VX-20 team to perform fabrication, installation, and operational support of instrumentation systems and wiring harnesses on various aircraft and test articles.
Your day-to-day work involves supporting E-2D and P-8 platforms, flight test pods, and ground support equipment. You will wire instrumentation packages, maintain and calibrate systems, and assist engineers in troubleshooting. The role includes performing pre-flight and post-flight checks, loading and removing data cartridges, and conducting work in the Instrumentation Lab. While most work is performed in enclosed buildings, the position may require travel to other test facilities and carriers. You will work in a team-oriented environment that values a servant leadership mentality, ensuring your contributions directly support our warfighters.
