The team is dedicated to building a stronger community through innovative engineering, planning, design, construction, and project management related to public works and development projects.
Depending on the assignment level (Engineer I, II, or III), you will perform a wide range of professional engineering duties under appropriate supervision. Your work will involve providing guidance and customer service to developers, contractors, and the public regarding engineering standards, ordinances, and policies. You will review and process engineering and construction permits, perform field investigations to resolve infrastructure issues, and inspect projects for compliance with approved plans.
You will also conduct plan checks, perform engineering design work for streets, utilities, water systems, and wastewater systems, and utilize CAD and GIS tools to develop maps and engineering plans. The role requires managing and coordinating capital improvement and development projects, including cost estimating and contract administration, while collaborating with engineers, architects, and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery. At higher levels, you may also provide guidance or supervision to junior staff.
Key Dates:
A 3.8% Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) is effective July 1, 2026. The position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $46.57 to $68.99.
