The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center (OSUMC) is committed to enhancing the quality of care provided to patients through teaching, research, and patient care. The Facilities Operations and Development team supports a 24-hour, 7-day-a-week operation, ensuring the health system's infrastructure runs seamlessly to maintain patient safety and achieve positive operational outcomes.
As an Energy Engineer (Specialist 2), you will support the Wexner Medical Center's continuous facilities operation by optimizing utility, energy, HVAC, and building automation performance. This role exists to identify energy conservation opportunities, analyze system data, and implement cost-effective improvements that reduce operating costs without compromising patient or life safety.
In this position, you will work under general direction, escalating complex issues to senior engineering staff while participating in construction and renovation reviews to integrate sustainability measures. Your day-to-day involves monitoring utility consumption, trending building data to identify anomalies, and performing preliminary energy assessments. You will collaborate with operations and project teams to coordinate troubleshooting, develop control logic, and support the measurement and verification of energy savings.
